Cartier Confirms Gold Potential on Cadillac Extension

Val-d’Or, Quebec, July 27th, 2010 – Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX-V: ECR) (“Cartier”) is pleased to announce that the first round of field work has confirmed the gold-bearing potential of the Cadillac Extension property. Preliminary results from channel samples returned 7.68 g/t Au over 0.85 meters. In order to simplify logistics, the neighbouring DeCorta property was merged with the Cadillac Extension property into a single asset named Cadillac Extension. This new landholding now consists of 304 cells totalling 17,430 hectares. The property is located 115 kilometers east of Val-d’Or in the province of Quebec. Results for copper, zinc and silver as well as all additional sampling results are pending. Recent work consisted of prospecting and sampling of the mineralized area as well as a property scale verification of the numerous conductors and magnetic anomalies identified in a regional geophysical survey completed by Cominco in 1992. Gold-bearing zones grading up to 15.0 g/t Au over 2.65 meters in channel samples had been obtained by Cominco in proximity to its Langlade massive sulphide deposit (refer to April 8th 2010 press release). The property shows a potential to host gold and base metal deposits along the eastern extension of the prolific LarderLake – Cadillac Fault. This structure, as well as favorable volcanic rocks that can host economic deposits, is demonstrated by the presence of the historic Langlade deposit discovered by Cominco. In all, 17 holes were drilled by Cominco for a total of 5,260 meters on the zinc-copper-silver-gold mineralized zone. The best intersections had returned 16.00% Zn, 4.20% Cu, 38.00 g/t Ag and 0.44 g/t Au over 1.1 meters in surface channel samples and drilling at depth on the mineralization had returned 5.50% Cu and 9.30% Zn over 0.95 meters as well as 2.45% Cu and 13.00% Zn over 1.0 meter. Cartier is currently evaluating all historic data and factoring this with its recent findings. “Our objective is to evaluate the economic potential of the Langlade deposit and scope out the potential for gold and base metal mineralization throughout the property” commented Philippe Cloutier, President and CEO of Cartier, “we’ve identified numerous targets that can be easily accessed year round for additional trenching and drilling. This is clearly an advantage in exploration and we intend to make good use of it”. Cartier has multiple options to fund exploration of this property through financing or partnership and will be providing updates to its shareholders regarding the advancement of this property. Quality Assurance/Quality Control Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d’Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories. The Cadillac Extension exploration and quality control programs as well as the scientific and technical information are supervised by Philippe Berthelot P.Geo., Vice President Exploration, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
